EASTER WEEK EGGSTRORDINARY!

Easter week brought fun for everyone. Chris and Kelly took their family to 6 Flags in the Bay area.

Then later in the week, Kelly had to go to San Diego for a work conference. Go Padres. Supposedly, she really was "working".
While she was in San Diego, Addy and Sophia flew to Las Vegas and then went to Arizona to stay with G & G Alley for the week. First time they flew by themselves!

Ryan and Crystal drove up and stayed with us on the week of Easter. We had eggciting and eggstrspecial times with them.

After the 8-hour car ride, a walk was in order. Payton took a ride on Grandpa's shoulders, love her pink cowboy boots.

Tractor rides also a priority.
Jumping on the trampoling is fun in the sun . . . eggsept when you fall through the enclosure. Unfortunetly, Ryan hurt his neck pretty bad. He went head over heels backwards trying to get away from Payton chasing him. Sorry Ryan.

Egg hunt on Sat. morning, eggstra fun eggsperience.

We had over 60 eggs hidden. We hunted and hunted and 7 were still missing. During the course of the week, we found 6, 1 lone egg is still hidden. I hope it has money and not candy in it. The ants may find it before I do.

We FOUND eggs and Payton LOST her 3rd tooth on the bottom row of teeth. She has quite an eggstremely large gap. Grandma Darla came over and we dyed eggs on Sat. Lil' sis checking out big brother's eggspert technique.

Payton, those are eggsquisite!

Owen's method was eggstremely quick. He'd drop an egg in the dye and took it out about 20 seconds later. He did about a dozen eggs in under 5 minutes. We redyed them to get them a little brighter. On Easter Sunday, we went to church.

Payton helped me make the deviled eggs. It's a good thing our family LOVES deviled eggs since we had about 40 dyed eggs.

Chris and Darla hosted Easter dinner. It was a great day and nice enough to eat out on their patio. It was a delicious meal!

The Pittmans, Alex's dad's family. We love 'em. We missed having their mom, Grace, with us this year, as she passed away less than a month ago. We all miss her so much.

Payton really loved her Easter dress this year, can you tell?

Alex brought his best friend, Henry. They have been buddies since daycare.

We did other fun things while the Smiths were here. Went to Grandma Darla's park.

The Wacky Bounce House in Corvallis.

They bounced til they dropped. Cool air is coming down this opening, good place to relax and take a break.

The bump at the bottom was SUPPOSED to stop them.

We went to Annie and Maddie's basketball game. Can you tell they love to be together, BFFs

After the game, we went to Extreme Yogurt. Yum!

Owen will agree, Yum!

Ryan had to fly home on Tues. On Thurs. Crystal and the kids and I did some fun things. We checked out the progress on the carousel which I think is supposed to open in 2 years. This is one of the carvings.

Payton is holding the unicorn's horn.

We went to Wings of Wonder, a butterfly farm.

Posing like statues, in hope of a butterfly to land on them.

There are also small birds. It's hard to see this little black and white bird peering out of her nest.

There's a small reptile house.

Sunbather

Outside, there is a garden area. A killdeer had her eggs laid in the white pebbles. Your can see them at the end of the video, near the top of the picture. Killdeers lay their eggs anywhere. They make a small impression, almost no nesting materials. Then lay their eggs. If anyone nears the nest, she makes a squaking sound, lays her wing out to one side like she's hurt and walks along the ground getting further and further from her nest. When she thinks you are a safe distance from her nest, as you follow her, then she flies away.

After Wings of Wonder, we went to Loafers for lunch. Crystal used to work there. Then after Owen's nap, we went to Real Deals, a fun store that Crystal and I like. They have so many cute things.

We all had a great and eggciting fun week together. I know this has been a long post, so in closing, I'd like to end with a song. Luckily, Payton is singing, not me. It proves that acoustics are better in the bathroom.  The song reminds us of the real meaning of Easter. With the death of a dear friend and the singing of this song we are reminded of the life and resurrection of our dear Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
