MORE!
We got more snow. 8" in the backyard and 10" in the front yard!
It never stopped snowing the whole day and 1/2 the night. The next morning, there was snow snow snow.
I love the look of the trees with no leaves.
There was one thing that made me laugh. Jim was parked in the garage. When he was leaving for work, he backed out about 10 feet and high centered his car. Here he is digging it out. Then he went to drive the truck, which was parked outdoors and the door was frozen shut. I had to take my blow dryer and run it along the seal of the door. Finally Jim got to work about an hour and 1/2 late. It was all kind of a pain, but so beautiful. Kevin and I took shovels and lowered the snow, so I could get to work. By the time I got home the neighbor had taken his Bobcat and cleared our whole road, yaaa for Todd.

MARCHING OFF TO THE BEACH
Jim and I went to the beach on March 2-4th. We stayed in Newport and also Lincoln City.
We visited this lighthouse. It was in operation for a while until they realized it wasn't sitting out far enough for the ships to see it. A captain and his family of 7 children lived in it for about 25 years.
It is unique because the lighthouse is built into the house. Only 4 were constructed that way and this is the only one standing today.
After the captain moved out, it got into horrible ruins before the Lincoln City Historical Society fixed it up.
The rain water was collected in this cistern and then
pumped into the kitchen. Pretty handy in those days.
A beautiful wood stove, don't know if I would have wanted to cook for 9 on it everyday.
Gorgeous stair rail.
Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite came from this era. As you see in the next picture, ropes held the feather mattress. The ropes had to be tightened regularly so as to hold the mattress and often another child would be sleeping under the bed in a trundle bed, so they really wanted the person on top to "sleep tight".
We had a wonderful relaxing weekend. Great way to march into March.

FEBRUARY FUN
Is it spring or winter, spring or winter, spring or winter??? That is the question. Even though spring is a month away, we get some gentle hints that spring could be coming and then we wake up to this. This is our backyard on March 1st, brrrrr, defintely still winter!

This was January 16, OK, yes I know that's winter for sure.
Despite the cold weather, we put in 17 more baby Douglas Fir trees. They are so cute as babies, . . . aren't we all.
Start of a tulip, bet it had a big shock this morning, completely covered with snow.
A week ago, it dried up enough for Kevin to give the backyard it's first mowing.
In Feb., Kevin and Jim went to a guy's night out (a few wives tagged along). They all went to Claim Jumper restaurant and then to the Winterhawks hockey game.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDDSfeUA2dc0rEf6QipIRdy46OhD4HRj3qtGIP9DIImWZgF_9jcAnHWJLUrASlLiIRGfOo5QsBd6IuCMSi2IstYyT14NtCPB7fXq9u8PA1wX2A2qy1P1ufIn6IeRv8exhgtCcdTAq9rBfo/s320/Jim%2527s+Cell+Phone+Pictures+080+%25282%2529.jpg)

The Winterhawk himself.
All the kids and grandkids are good. Alex has gained a love of reading and is a great student.
The little boys are growing like weeds.
Payton has taken a liking to cooking.
Addy is an official permit driver at the age of 15 1/2. She passed the test on her first try. Also a great student.

Her first time behind the wheel . . . sort of. She's been driving on our property since she was 7. First on our laps, then her legs got too long, so since about 10 she's been "solo" behind the wheel.

Sophie had her 11th birthday in Jan. She had it at a place that has trampolines on the floors and walls called Sky Zone. Great student too.

Also in Jan. Kelly and Chris(no picture of Chris) had their birthdays and Crystal had hers in Feb.
