We drove down to California on Friday, Sep. 18th for Dylan's #1 birthday celebration. On Sat. we went to Alex's and Sophia's soccer games. 
On Sunday, we celebrated Dylan's birthday. It's hard to believe he is ONE year old now.

All the family and friends came to Chris and Kelly's house for food and fun and to wish Dylan a happy birthday. Kelly prepared a feast of delicious snacks. (cheese-chicken balls-mmmm)

The swimming pool kept the kids happy for hours and hours.
Kelly made a cake, that looked like a cupcake with a candle and flame. It was very good.
Dylan had his own personal cake. Kelly tried to get him to blow out the candle, but he was more impressed with the flame.
After we sang Happy Birthday to him, it was time to "dig in". At first, he wasn't sure.
He gave it the taste test.
And decided it was yummy!
When it came time to open presents, he was passed out. The presents had to wait.
After the 2 hour nap, it was time to open presents. He needed mom and dad's help at first.
But then he started to figure it out.
Then he really REALLY got into it.
It was a great party. Cousin Owen was left thinking, "Cool, I get to do this in 2 weeks!"

Mom - That's a great post! I'm going to use some of the pictures you took. I didn't take as many as I would have liked to, so I'm glad you did. Dōmo arigatō Kathy Coverstomo.
So fun to look at. I need some of those pics too since my camera battery died! It was a good time with good food, family, and friends. :)
